Hi All! Excellent forum I've been lurking for a while

Time for a quick question thoough,

I have a lovelly 99 Sprint ST however the black paint is peeling off the wheels. Can anyone recommend a paint to sort it out? Has to be someting I cn get in the UK. Is this a common issue with an Elderly ST?

Hi lurker Bogwoppit,

We haven't had too many issues with this. It could be, and this is a maybe that the original finish might have been scratched to the base metal at some point and because salt is in use during the winter over there you might have a corrosion issue. Again, this is just a thought.

But to your question. If it were me I'd take the wheels off and strip them down and have them powder coated. This process would clean off any corrosion and put an almost indestructable finish on them. And they can do about any color you'd want. It should be very reasonable on the cost too.

Don

Actually $200.00 for color powder coating and a clear coat on top of that and $30.00 for stripping them. Ask me how I know. :-D
