Finished synching throttlebodies today. When I finished and got everything buttoned up I took it for a spin. When I started the bike the engine light came on and stayed on.

Any thoughts? Only thing I can think of is when I turned the bike on to set the throttlebodies, I slipped a shim under the throttle plate. Unfortunately, I did that before I turned the engine on. Did that reset the throttle position sensor?

Unfortunately, after all the messing about, the bike has slightly improved throttle response at low revs but I still have the surge/miss at light load, part throttle. I checked the plugs while it was open. They all looked the same, light tan deposit, even distribution, no balck marks or crud, gapped just under .90 mm.

Any thoughts welcome.

The engine light should go off after three full heat cycles if the original cause for the light has gone away. I think you need to run it until it hits normal operating temp, then let it cool all the way down, etc.

Did you reconnect the connector on top of the airbox. This is what got me a while back.

The 3 warm up cycles will turn the light off.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Now that I think about it, I can't remember if I put that connector back or not. #$%^&*@, now I'll have to pull the tank again.
