Behold, my 05 ST with the new Powerbronze hugger.

It looks great on the bike - completes the look, imo.

Thanks to fellow member "pushrod" for the beautiful satin black finish and the installation assist :upthumb:

Looks pretty good.

Was it a gloss black when you got it?

How difficult to install and does it feel fairly solid?

Looks great!

I have a question about the '05 vs the '06. I don't see in your pictures any rubber protective flap in the back of the spring.

Just to the rear of my spring sits a rubber flap that offers pretty good protection. Is this an '06 addition?

My dealer suggested to save a buck on the hugger until I felt I needed it. So far, the built in flap works okay.

But I love the look so I may opt to put a hugger on in any case.

It was gloss black when I received it. My friend gave it a quick coat of satin black so that it would match the rest of the black on the bike. I'm not sure why Powerbronze doesn't offer it in a satin finish to begin with.

The install was fairly simple. Basically removing a few bolts - and then bolting this in place. It has a nice beefy bracket, which makes the installation seem pretty solid.

I would say that it took me less than an hour and I was taking my time.

No rubber flap on the 05. I believe that this was added on the 06 model (or perhaps on late 05 models).

The rubber flap you're talking about is a plastic guard which is specific to the ABS models.

It protects the ABS unit from the elements but isnt any where near as effective as the full hugger.
