Hot laps in a V8 racecar
I know this has nothing to do with my Sprint, but I can't help sharing. My wife organised a couple of hot laps in a V8 supercar at Calder Park for me a couple of weeks ago and I had my helmet cam record the fun....

No, just the passenger. But I liked it so much she booked me in for a drive and ride in a V8 race car at the end of January. I get to drive 6 laps and then ride with a pro driver to show me how it should be done..

Holy cow, that car sounds mean! I would love to do something like this!
You would think for your drive and ride, they would have the pro drive first, that way you could try to learn a little bit from them and try to apply it when you go. Either way, it would be a great time!

That looks awesome! I have done a NASCAR ride along at Daytona and the speed was great, 170mph, but the constant left turns took me a bit out of it. I could only imagine how it would feel to try and tame one of those V8 beasts.

I agree, but I think the reason they want you to go first is that the pro will take it closer to the limit than you will, but if he went first, you might try to match or beat him and not having the experience, maybe wreck the car....
They had a laptop sitting in the pit recording telemetry from the car and we hit 200 kph (125 mph) just after leaving the pit lane and just before we braked for the first corner and coming down the main straight we got to 250 kph (156 mph). The way this car braked was incredible....

They do pretty much the same thing here at the NASCAR tracks. Never done it myself, but I have several friends who have. Lots of fun!
