08 Sprint st/abs battery charge issue
Put in a OEM battery because the original was 4 yrs old and not charging. The new one starting at 12.8 reads 11.7 with engine running. I thought it should be 14.2. Could I have a rectifier/alternator ptoblem? The PDF manual just shows a physical diagram. Is there a way to check these items for a fault before going to my dealer 75 mi. away? I'm good on the mech side of things but lack electrical savvy...maybe an existing thread out ther already?
Thanks,redonly

I feel your pain! I'm working on replacing/upgrading the regulator/rectifier on my '08 as well.

I need some input on what to do with the connector with the blk/brown wires when hooking up the FH012/020 R/R from Shindengen. There was some mention of taping off a connector.

You can buy a cable from Triumph for $10 that makes the shindgren unit install a plug and play affair...if I find details, I'll direct you but it's all here on the forum somewhere.

Just bought the wiring adaptor from Triumph. The PN is T2500676 (Regulator link lead). Cost me 10 $ (Can). Harness quality is excellent for the price. Plug and play solution. In my opinion, it does not worth buying the connectors and wiring separately unless if you want to wire up the Reg's output directly to the battery. Also, make sure this harness will fit the Reg you will buy.

Thanks Sparkydany'
I really want to keep the stock connectors on the bike side and not disrupt the OEM wiring which is in excellant condition. I obviously went overboard with the Shingengen FH020AA unit, but will have to get a 4 pin connector for the non battery side of the 020 R/R unit.

Redonly, the Triumph part number there is for a pair of cables: one goes from the Shindengen R/R to the stator, the other from the R/R to the harness. It's all you need.
Cheers,
-Kit
