Also how do u know if the rectifier is playing up Thanks

Gen-Mar makes risers and I think a few other companies do as well.

The best (and only before its too late) way to know if the R/R or alternator is acting up is to install an led-voltage monitor or a voltmeter. My radar detector can display battery voltage also.

On my '08ST, Triumph has chosen to not even include a voltage idiot light in the instruments.
