How tall is too tall for a Sprint ST 955?

I have a possible buyer for my motorcycle. They are thinking about buying it for their son. He is 6' 6" and asking me if he'll fit on it. With me being only 5' 4" I know I have plenty of room, but I don't have a clue as to how comfortable that extra 14" will be for him.

Do you have your bike lowered in any way to accomodate your shorter stature? Do you have any handlebar modifications to put the bars closer to the rider?

I have a friend of 6'4" who bought a Sprint RS and from the seat height specs those bikes sit just 5mm higher than a stock ST. He was comfortable on the RS, though what the specs don't show is that those have the bars 25mm lower and 25mm further forward than an ST.

Have the potential customers go to this website, enter in the riders height, inseam and even arm length and the website will show his theoretical frame seated on the exact bike you select. In this case of course it would be a stock 1999-2004 Sprint ST. Note that there are optional boxes to open up to place the rider at the front, center or rear of the seat.

The bike has not been lowered, I had to grow longer toes. LOL The only handlebar mods that come to mind are the Genmar risers but other than that, nothing that I know of. I passed the website off to them. We'll see how things work out.

If the risers are removed, he ought to be comfortable. The 955 Sprints had a pretty long reach to the bars.

You can recommend the MFW Vario peg lowering kit available from Twisted Throttle.It will give him more leg room. There are threads here on the subject.

My baby has been adopted and is on its way to WV. He fit on it very well. Harley convert!!!

I'm sad to see it go but my husband sent a sign that it was ok and that I did the right thing. There was a rainbow when I left my house.

The new guy will be fine. I'm 6ft 2 and have stupidly long legs and I do get cramped knees, but after I took the risers off, from the waist up it's bliss.
