lost key

lost one of my 2 keys to my ST. anybody know the deal with getting a spare of the spare cut? any locksmith do it or is it a special key type thing

If it's like my '04 (and I'm pretty sure it is), you can use an Ilco X270 blank. A decent locksmith should have it, though the local hardware store probably won't.

The Ilco270 blank works with my Sprint GT and my 2000 Thunderbird.

Since ours bikes (and all my Fords) use a double tumbler type of ignition switch, makes it so you can put the key in in any direction, the thing I always wanted to do is have one bike 's key cut on one side of the key and the other bike on the other side. That way I'd able to start either bike with one key. Sure, I may put the key in backwards sometimes but I'd have them both covered.

Butler's Keys on eBay have blanks for Triumphs. Tiger and Sprint are the same IIRC. Got a couple the other day as my 'used' Tiger only came with one. Got it cut at Mister Minit, any hardware would do, and works like a bought one.
