The RS is a great bike!

Ive been a life long Triumph enthusiast & rider & have owned many models over the last 40 years & own several now . . . but ive only owned my 04 Sprint RS for a couple of months.

I find myself riding this bike more & more though, as it really is such a good all rounder - in fact, im finding difficult to critisize.

The gearchange is a bit "clunky" between 2nd & 3rd (but much better clutchless).
The lights were crap, but better with both units now working with the addition of the second relay. . .and if im being really picky, the mirrors are not quite wide enough, but these are really very minor niggles.

All in all though, its a brilliant all rounder & always an absolute pleasure to ride

I know what you mean! I've just recently acquired an '02 RS and I couldn't be happier.
Really fun to ride, mountains of power, flickable, and stops on a dime. What's not to like??
Congrats and happy riding!

I agree Snoops I have always stated here I think the Sprint ST, RS and GT range are a great "all-rounder motorcycle".

Quite capable of being pushed with sports bikes in the corners (you just have to work harder) or just plodding along or on a 6 day trip.

They are not perfect but do most things a very well and it has a gem of an engine that makes riding very easy.

cheers
Dave

The RS is indeed a great bike, Snoops. Got a riding buddy who purchased an '04 five years ago, and thus far has logged 38k miles in every condition imaginable - sun, rain, sleet and snow - without a single problem. Aside from disposables like tires, chain/sprockets, and regular oil/filter changes, the bike's needed nothing, not even a valve adjustment, and has been 100% trouble free. He's 64 (we used to ride Bonnies and Nortons together back in the day) and routinely embarasses squids. Says it's the best bike he's ever owned, and plans on keeping it forever.
