Stock seat vs Corbin - Height?

Guys, when I purchased my 06 Sprint ST in August it came with a Corbin seat and I'm not sure that i like it all that much. It's not bad per se but if I'm not mistaken the Corbin seat's versus the stocker drop you about 1/2 to 1" and I'm thinking I'd like to have the extra height to have my knees bent a bit less.

Can anyone who has both seats confirm the height difference and/or comment on comfort between the two? I do realize that comfort can be subjective so I'm not going to hold anyone's feet to the fire on that

I had a corbin and hated it. It was much too hard for me. When ordering a corbin they ask for your height and build the seat accordingly, unless you ask them to add or subtract padding to make it a certain height, so I guess it depends on the person who ordered it as to whether it will be higher or lower than stock. I should add that I did order mine and since I am tall it was higher than stock by about an inch.

I had one too for about a year or two. A lot of people love them but it didn't agree with me or mrs. elevens. I didn't care for the weight or the look. It was the gunfighter and lady model and it was lower - guessing about an inch or so?

Mine is the G and L model too and looking at photos of the stock seat the Corbin must be at least 1/2" shorter if not more. I had a Corbin on my SV650 (for a very short time) and didn't like it at all and it was nearly an inch shorter. Think I'll hunt down a stock seat. Don't imagine they go for too much used.

Pulled the trigger on a stock seat for $100.00. looking forward to comparing.

The Corbin is shorter, but the stock seat has soft foam that crushes when you sit on it. I don't know if I notice a difference in knee bend.....

Corbin all the way. Plus you wont have those weird screws holding the seat

Well got the stock seat and have ridden on it this week and I like it. It is definitely not as supportive as the Corbin but I do sit about 3/4 to a full 1" higher and I prefer the position and so do my knees. I think if I need the better long distance comfort of a Corbin I'll order one custom one for me that is the height I like.

I agree. For me, both the stock and gel saddles on my 08 are way too soft and as such compress to
the point of bottoming out uncomfortably after a couple of hours. The Corbin holds it shape.

Got a Corbin. Get yourself a sheepskin cover made for it. Makes all the difference on the comfort side, and retains the great support it provides.
