Well, yes, lol. I haven't been able to ride a Multi, but I did ride a Diavel with the same engine and the power was, well, addicting to say the least. I really like my 1050, but a 160hp twin is hard to beat.

Just realized my happy accident to buy my 2011 Sprint GT turned me into a collector!!! I only have one bike in my collection, but I have one bike in my collection! It really is about how you say it? I turned 6000 miles on my first anniversary with the bike earlier this month. I have used it for commuting, I have used it for cruising with pillion, I have used it to erase interstate between my home and family, and I have sliced up some Appalachian foothills with it too. Great all around bike!

After Googling the Tiger 1050 Sport, it got me thinking that is one were to throw a belly pan under it, it would be a sort of reincarnation of the RS.

I cobbled together the pannier racks this weekend and as a result my ZX14R Hyper-sport is now a Hyper-sport tourer

Givi E21 ( 21 liter) top loaders, and a Motocentric tail bag ( 23 liter) should be all I need for touring next season ... That and my
Cortech tank bag (14liter).


With only 4 bolts, the racks attach / detach in a couple of minutes. The panniers are 36" wide, same as the mirrors.


The racks as shown weighs 6lbs and the Givi's 7.5lbs for a lightweight 13.5lb setup. Aluminum tubing
is 6061 T6 and the adapter plates are made with HDPE plastic. Paint is Krylon ultra flat black.

Adding an adapter plate as a top rack for my Bestem or Givi E360 would be a simple matter,
but I'll stick with the soft tail bag for now. Tom

I do not want to get crabby but I have got to ask myself that. In 2004 they retired the Trophy and offered the Rocket as a substitute. I owned a Trophy 900 and believe me the Rocket III was no substitute. I have said for years that they should have re-engined the Trophy with the FI 955 and it would have been wonderful.

Now they are dropping the Sprint for the new Trophy, while nice I just do not see it. What would be cool would be a bike like the Sprint but getting under 440 lbs 200 kilos dry with out bags with the smaller triple engine in it. In other words make a SPORTS touring bike. This would be aimed at those of us who love to occasionally drag a knee but still commute on a bike and tour a few weeks out of the year.

Any body ever toured on a Street triple?

The simple little E21's have long been my favorites. They're durable and inexpensive ... as Givi's go ($170.00 pair).
As top loaders, they're easy to pack and hold lots more than one would think possible.
