I fitted the Triumph rear rack about 6 months ago, the seat was much harder to lock in place afterwards, it usually needed a good thump with a clenched fist to make the rear post lock into place. I`ve just bought a gel seat and can`t get it to lock at all. Anyone had similair problems????

apparently not Mr Welshrob

either that or they're all to pissed to answer you.

I have the gel seat but not the rack and have no probs at all.

Rob, when you go on your trip with Mrs Welshrob, make sure you park the bike in the shade when you stop or throw a cover of some sort over it, I toss my jacjet over mine.

Or your little bottoms will get cooked :)

hi mate, ive got the gel seat and triumph luggage rack on my '04 ST, but also got givi PL racks on the side. these raised the top rack 5mm so i had to pack the seat lock and the rear lugs of the top rack up to suit. this left a gap under the back of the seat but i filled this with a U-shaped block of neoprene rubber bonded in place.
ive had no problems with this setup and because its been tailor made to the mm, its more secure and waterproof than original.
the only problem ive had is if you leave that gel seat out in the sun it gets too hot to sit on!!!

Welshrob,

'03 with Gel and the rack. No problem.

Now, my '00 was a b*tch to latch, and I never did figure out why. And it had a stock seat and the rack.

+1 on the Gel in the sun. I carry an old white towel in my pack to cover the seat while the bike is parked.
