2011 Sprint GT owners in USA

My local dealer has a new carryover 2011 Sprint GT on the floor. My question is for USA owners of the 2011 model year.

Have ya'll had any problems?

I've seen issues listed about cold start stalls and tank collaps. The only reason I'm inquiring about US owners is due to the ethonol fuel we have to use and Cali emissions they seem to have on bikes. Last time I bought a European bike (Ducati)I had to get it dyno tuned just to run right in Texas. It was way too lean.

No problems either. CA doesn't have any more emissions parts on the bike than the rest of the US models. Mainly because all have catalytic converters in the exh system. When I traveled to Utah, it didn't like the gas with the E85 ethanol in the formula... But sounds like that can be dealt with in one of the ECU maps. So buy the thing already!!!!

Be sure the GT has had all its recalls done; there were issues with stalling that seem to have been resolved with a new tune.

Cheers,
-Kit

Wait... you put E85 in it??? E85 is 85% ethanol, and cars are specially made for it. My truck for instance has a sensor in the fuel line to meter the amount of ethanol in it so it can change fuel/ignition maps when running E85 vs E10 vs regular gas. Places in the states that run ethanol in the regular pumps currently only use 10 percent ethanol and is referred to as E10. The E85 pumps should be separate.

Mine runs like a top. No issues. Buy it. now.

2011 GT - Runs great. Haven't had it out on too many cold mornings, but the ones I did have it out on it never stalled (by itself - it does seem to need a little more clutch/throttle modulation than when warm).

Had mine for about six months. I love this bike. I am still trying to get it to shift just right. But it's pretty close to perfect for me.

Yah they are separate however I didn't notice the rating because it looked pretty much the same as the regular gas (which is noted on the pump as 15% ethanol). And the fact that we were in a hurry, made for a miserable ride until I got out of Utah. All of Utah's gas has some sort of ethanol in the fuel. No problems with the gas else where though.
