Just tried to adjust the rebound Damping on my new 05/06 sprint. According to the book the screw should be on the right hand side (ie foot brake side) at the bottom of the mono shock.
After spending some time looking for it I found it on the left hand side (same side as the pre-load) at the bottom of the shock and accesable (almost) through the chain with the use of a bent screw driver.
Does anyone know if the book is wrong or has my shock been fitted incorectly? or have I misunderstood the instructions?
Any comments welcome.
Dont think it is anything to do with Australia being upside down!

Same as mine. I guess the manual is incorrect. I suggest you use a 8mm socket rather than a scrwedriver because the head is soft and easily damaged.

If you'd tipped the bike upside down to compensate you would have found it fine :-D

No no no, you're supposed to be standing on your head when adjusting this feature. :-D

errrr, the rebound damping is a big screwdriver slot on my bike, aren't you referring to the pre load adjuster? Slotted 8mm hex head screw on mine.

Thanks for the input. I am referring to the rebound which is a slotted screw at the bottom of the shock. Just spoken with the dealer and been told it is a misprint in the manual and that it should be on the same side as the preload. This makes it difficult to get good access and seems strange to me as the other side would have made more sense.

Isn't it easier to hold the bike upside down on one hand and adjust the screw with the other?

Your all missing something here.

You are supposed to use a mirror!

It is in small print at the beginning of the manual.

"This manual is to be used when servicing the model noted using proper Triumph special tools and Triumph mirror part # 3674520000631 available from your dealer.
See rear page for list of dealers"

Don't you guys READ! :-D
