I purchased one of these each for my partner and I about 3 months ago and we are very pleased with them.

My riding buddy kept raving about them so I thought we'd give them a go on our new Suomy lids. My partner on her previous helmut had a mirror visr which she really liked here in our bright sunshine, when we bought the new helmuts a few months ago naturally she suddenly had to deal with a clear visor.

I hate wearing sunnies under my lid, I find them too restrictive of my vision. And give me a headache.

Well I have to give these Iridium visors the big thumbs up. :upthumb: :upthumb: :upthumb: :upthumb: :upthumb:

I wouldn't ride with it at noght but I don't do any night riding so it's not an issue.

But these things are like wearing really expensive sunnies, absolutely no glare, your eyes are completely relaxed. We are really impressed with them and I wouldn't ride without one now in the bright sunshine of Queensland.

Cost after a short haggle was $100.00 AUD each but very well worth it. NO squinting in the sun!

Dave,

I have a silver iridium visor on my helmet.I find it a lot more comfortable on a sunny day than wearing sunglasses inside a clear visor.

Main problem is if you are on a ride where you are coming home in the dark you really need to carry a clear visor as well. The iridium visor is too dark for night time riding.

The other disadvantage is that riding with the visor up through town etc, is harder to do than when you have sunglasses on.

They look pretty good too.

Iceman,
you are right about the dark, they're no good for that.
Mine is a funny sort of colour sort of a bluey mixture.

It certainly looks cool. In town I keep it down and just open my helmut vent. I would never ride without one here after using it for a few months.

Hi guys, yes got one over here in Perth for when the sun eventually shines  It's been cloudy/showery lately.
Give it a looks good with my silver lid.
As you say it can be a bit precarious at night though!

I did try an iridium visor, but found that in strong sunlight I found my own reflection in my sightline irritating, so I sold it on.

yea, I have the same issue but I got used to it.

I too have the bluey purple version of the lens and I noticed that those iridium lens scratch EASILY so be very careful with them ^_^

Yeah, I was not a fan of the finish on the shields. The "irridium" finish would scratch way too easily. Now, if a company would market a tinted lense that was polarized, i would jump on it though. THAT is what makes your eyes relax.

The thing to do is wear Polaroid sunglasses with a clear visor, then depending on how the light falls you get psychedelic coloured bitumen.

Reminds me of when ... nah, won't go there .. I didn't eat the mushrooms, treely rooly :-D

[Edit: actually when you're in and out of shadows on a sunny day I find it dangerous to wear anything other than a clear visor; I need max vision when scanning the road at 40 metres per second]

Well Ern old sport,
we'll agree to disagree on this one.
I find it much safer than a clear visor and or sunglasses, mind due we may have a lot less shadows and a lot more sun here where I live.

As for the "dangerous to wear anything other than a clear visor" comment.

I would say that depends on the weather conditions on where you live.

Here in SE Queensland it is usually not cloudy and very bright and my eyes ARE relaxed with the iridium visor, that's the point.

Also I have no restrictions to my vision with the edges of glasses or side arms or anything else that distracts when you were glasses.

Take that you cad! :-D Sunnies indeed!

your mate,

davem
