Greetings peeps my first post here after a bout of serious lurking :-)

My Skidmarx huger arrived today and without the aid of a safety net I have attempted to fit it. The first problm I have run into is that I don't know how to remove the rear footrest (I ain't no Einstein when it comes to bikes). There is a spring clip which I have removed but I cannot see any bolts to slacken off to let me pull it off !!

Any help / pics / users manual page would help...

Oh and it also says in the fitting instructions that loosening the rear brake caliper bolts would help with fitting the hugger. At the risk of sounding dangerously incompetent which ones are they ? (My guess is the two biggies staring right at you)

Thanks for any help you can give.

Cheers

Moondog

PS. Anyone know of a link to a pdf users manual ?

Moondog,
Are you sure you want to work on something as critical as the brake calipers with your admitted lack of mechanical skills? One thing that is required when removing and replacing brake calipers is a torque wrench. If you don't have one I would NOT remove the caliper. I don't own a 2005 model so I can't help you with the rear footrest removal.
This is where I bought my factory repair manual
Hermy's
Good luck.

Thanks for your prompt response.

As it happens I was trying to take off the wrong part in the first place (rear footrest when it should have been the rear footrest hanger doh* !).

That came off without a hitch, rear caliper came off (little bit of an awkward area to work in) relatively easy. Hugger on, rear caliper back on, hugger tightened and adjusted voila !!

Can post pics if you tell me how ?

Torque settings for rear brake caliper bolts would be useful if anyone can tell me them.

Cheers,

Moondog
