Dropped her

Slid down the road after hitting a large pool of diesel mid-corner. Broken right peg hanger, mirrors, exhaust (the Staintune!!!) and fairing is rooted. But... good bike gear means sliding 30ft down the road leaves you with bruises and nothing more.

Sorry about your off Dave. Hope you and the bike mend well.

After seeing you ride on the wrong side of the road in your recent video,
I was concerned about your well being

Tom

that explains so much

Elevens, the gear's OK - just worn through over the elbow. Commuting to work, so Rjays textile jacket (padded, inserts etc) and Dririder overpants (also padded etc).

DaveGPz, so sorry to hear you have hurt your bike and glad that you have nothing more than bruises. I guess we have to accept that sometimes we find some diesel in our lives.

Had to push start her tonight. Luckily I was at the top of a big hill, so I just pushed out into the road and started rolling. Tried letting the clutch out in 2nd and the rear tire just locked up. Then remember a trick I'd heard. Put it up into 3rd, stood on the pegs and jumped down onto the bike, at the instant my bum hit the seat I let the clutch out and she started right up. The extra impact weight on the rear tire seems to help.
But, the real problem is my bike doesn't seem to be charging my battery anymore. The problem tonight was I had 4 quick start and stops and that was it for the battery. Battery is only a year old and I just pulled it off of the tender.
37,000 mi on the clock...
