Would any Sprint owners who have had the connector break and leak fuel please email me on "collinschemist@hotmail.com"
Mine broke on a bike 3 months old. Triumph know about it but do nothing
I am trying to gather evidence to force a recall and replacement with durable part.
I do not want to go up in flames because of cheapskating by Triumph on a small but vital part.

Yup,

Happened to me too.

you can email me, my email is in my profile.

I replaced mine with plastic elbows and hose clamps. I still get a slight weep from the one connector, I'm thinking of going with the metal fittings.

On my third set now.....ended up buying Brass ones from ...WWW.MASCYCLES.COM

Good luck getting TRIUMPH to do anything....their customer service is pathetic....I broke one of the Quick connects on my takn bag last summer...(GOOD luck finding the same size one in the U.S., I called Customer service.....and was pretty much told to "PISS OFF and BUY a whole new bag....."

FAR from impressed with them.......Great bikes....My old dealer was AWSOME(Dunbar Eurosport in MA)...but they no longer carry Triumph's.......

At this point I am looking for a new bike(I have a 2000 sprint st) and I am having a HARD time justifying buying another TRIUMPH ...Too Bad.....

ATTENTION TRIUMPH......"IT'S ALL ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE"........

happened to me also. We should send a certified letter to Triumph demanding that a metal refit be supplied at nominal cost $25.00 or less. Face the customer now or the class action lawsuit later. Ralph Nader wouldn't Viagra if he saw the valve on the gas tank of the Sprint.

Which portion of the connector does the crack show up at? On the female or male portion (?)

Don't what type you have but both ends on mine are male.
The fault lies in the desgin of the side incorporating the pressure spring - the recess that accepts the circlip is a weak point in the design.
My leak was so bad the paint work on the frame was damaged and Triumph Australia have agreed to pay for repairs.

Hi MSSparks

I got my metal set from them.Very good quality, reasonable price and easy to deal with.Main problem with mine was getting the plastic set out!The metal parts fitted perfectly.

Good luck
