In the picture on the Triumph site, it looks to have a key/lock setup on the rear that one would think eliminates the 2 screw setup as delivered. Anyone have the gel seat for th 2005 or have knowledge regarding this?

Oh yes same two bolts as the standard one and unless you really really have to DONT remove them as they are an absolute @*&^%$* to get back in, I gave up after 1/2 an hour and think I'll take it back to the dealer to see if they can magic them back in! :hammer:

I simply don't bolt the saddle down on my 06 Sprint. Why? There are two points where the saddle is tucked in -- under the tank and at the middle cross brace. More than sufficient to keep the saddle on, whether I'm sitting in it one or two up, or hovering above it.
I have the gel seat as well, and like DaveM my only complaint is it's heat absorbtion. I'm sure it will be great in the winter though. When you're taking off or putting in the two screws holding it it, put the end of the allen wrench in a straw or other small plastic tube. That will keep it from scratching the paint if (when?) the seat fabric pushes it out of the screw.
Bummer. From the pics on the Triumph website it looked to be keyed. I was thinking of getting it just for that. I have a tankbag strap attached under the seat but only use it about half the time and I don't like the strap there when not in use. Oh well...
