The clutch cable is frayed on my '02 ST. I see Triumph did a recall for this in '01. Has anyone had this problem with '02 or later? Did Triumph replace it under the same recall?http://www.recalls.gov.au/view_recal..._ID_Auto=12256

I haven't had a problem in this area. There was a recall as I remember. At the time I bought my bike, I asked my dealer about it and he had already replaced the cable and checked the routeing and such.

Mine was under the recall and frayed pretty quickly. It was where the cable runs through the adjuster.

I try to keep a spare clutch cable under the seat on any bike that uses one. Always figured it would be my luck that it would break when I was out for a sunday ride.

Crankcase-end nipple pulled off mine one month from new.

Thinking of Lars' insurance. Course once you've got a spare you never need it.

That's why I carry a spare clutch cable, a spare throttle cable, and raingear. Well, so far it's worked for the cables. Actually needed the raingear for half hour today...

Back in the bad old days dirtbikers used to ziptie a second cable to the one being used. When the cable failed it didn't take long to hook up the new one.
Newer cables seem to be better than back then.
I've gone through 3 clutch cables on my sprint so far. I can't explain this.
My hawk gt still has the original clutch cable. I replaced the original throttle cables this summer because I was worried.
