Well folks, now you've helped me decide between an RS and ST I was wondering if you could do the same with screens.

I've ridden bikes with flip screens but not double bubble. Do they both achieve he same effect by different methods or do you get a different aero effect?

Regards, Speedtrifle.

Never had the flip screen. Didn't care much for the looks. I had the Double bubble on my 99 ST and loved it. Just enough extra protection over stock with no buffeting. And looked the deal. (Gave it to my buddy when he bought a 2004 ST).

Running the stock screen on my 2005 ST. I'll see what Zero Gravity comes up with, but right now I'm liking the stock screen a lot.

I got the Aero screen as supplied by Trumpy. Wouldn't call it a double bubble, just a larger screen,
We are just coming out of Winter, so the larger screen was excellent for wind/cold.

Turbulence is created at the screen edge; you have noise and you have buffeting. You can often change one only at the expense of the other.

Changing either is complex - where does your upper body sit in the turbulence and how does your helmet shape interact with it?

You can do a simple experiment by taping some heavy card to your screen to create a second bubble and see how it affects noise and buffeting.

Double bubble works for me on my ST. I'm 6'3 with a 33" inside leg, so I am tall in the body. Much better than the standard screen, with no buffeting.

I have both now, I like the Double Bubble for Summer, gets me some more airflow around the chest and shoulders.

My "flip" screen brings the air up to where my Helmet is. great for cooler and wet riding where I need more protection.
