So easy in a Honda :-D

Wondering if it was something I could do myself? Does the Sprint use special plugs? I think mine might be fouled.
It takes about 8/10 cranks before it fires up. It's been doing it ever since I bought it. :???:

FWIW my 02 when cold never fires on the first crank; usually takes 8-10 like you say yours does. I've read that from others about their bikes on this forum as well.

They usually get better with a couple of miles on them. My '03 doesn't want to start when I put Premium (93) in the tank.

Well, FWIW, mine has rarely been cranked more than once to start. And I use premium in her all the time, really cut down on some mild pinging with mid-grade fuel.

FWIW, my RS starts up right away and I use 93 octane. I recently changed the plugs to Iridium. Some noticable difference. Not a hard process, just a little lengthy due to removing tank and airbox.

It isn't too difficult to remove the tank, especially if it isn't full.

Remove one bolt and you can lift it up to access the fuel line & pump wires. Word of caution -- place a rag between the front of the tank & the triple clamp to avoid gouging the tank. That is unfortunate experience talking there

If you remove the fuel line at end furthest from the tank, it won't leak. I tried removing it right at the tank first, and had gas running everywhere.

I'm not sure about the plugs, though. Haven't had to do that yet.

the 05 sprint does take a few turns to fire up. just remember not to use any throttle when starting as this wont help.

changing your plugs wont help at all its a normal characteristic of the 05.
