Anybody know why Triumph quite their support of racing? I watch all the Moto GP/Superbike etc. races...usually pulling for the Ducati guys. It sure would be nice to see the big T back in the game. I can't help but think it would help sell more bikes...and it sure would be refreshing to see something besides a field full of oriental expresses. All the development from racing usually results in a better product too.

I think the rice burners pay Triumph to stay out. The race fans would get tired of us winning all the time.

It isn't going to happen.

The Daytona is at least 7-8 years behind the Big4.

I'm kind of glad Triumph pulled out of major racing, they were to far behind the rice curve. And since they did, we got the Daytona 650.

There might be something big coming out in a few weeks. I'm not saying they will get back into racing but rumor has it that it will be something to rival the other sport bikes. My dealer is being pretty tight lipped about it. I might be all wet on this though.

Bloor has probably heard the old line "You know how to make a million racing bikes? Start with two million!"

Triumph is a small company. It takes cubic dollars to start, much less sustain a racing program.

I am no expert on race bikes, I haven't rode a Daytona but the Speed Triple should be as good as any big 4 bikes with the same mods, and race trim. the Speed Triple I had ran almost as good as a friends kaw hyabusha. He rode my bike and wished he had got it. He has it up for sell, and is going to get a new Speed triple. If I rode a Hybusha I might change my mind.

I was just kidding about the big 4 paying Triumph not to race.
I know the cost is to much for them. but with the right sponsor a team could be competitive The bike is there.
If I had the funds I would start a team. You know the big 4 race bikes are not close to stock most are one off and have very few stock parts most every part is custom made.

triumphite is CORRECT,
tis the 675 TRIPLE,

I've seen the motor in the factory (alas but not the bike).
The bikes not a well kept secret, as it's been spied on the roads already !
Its looks VERY cool & they've even out ZXR'd Kawasaki !

I do hope to catch sight of the 675 when I'm back in at Triumph next month !

& yes tis a shame Camara's are prohibited !
