Won't start

My 02 St won't start. Had a lowside in May rode for 700 miles after accident. No problems. Went in shop to get fixed and now it won't start. Put in new battery in it cranks but won't fire. The bike never went on it side actually went into ditch. Plus rode it many miles right after accident and several times.

Any ideas. What could the shop do when all the replaced was plastic no other damage :???:

Atleast the dealer gave me a 05 until it's fixed.

This may not be your case but I know of one instance in which the dealer forgot to reattach a ground wire. So nothing would happen when you turn the key. This was of course after routine 24K service.

My RS did that 2 years ago. came out after work, cranked for 45 min., waited for truck to haul, when the truck showed up, tried one last time and it started. Rode home, tried the next day, wouldn't start, trucked it 90 mi. to a dealer, un-loaded, started right up. Dealer ran diagnostic, nothing, all codes correct. Hasn't done it since. ???

I'd look at the sidestand switch.
