I have noticed that the front mudguards overhanging design is susceptible to stone chipping. I picked up a couple already despite often leading the pack when out riding...
I paid £4.99 at hein gericke for a thick sheet of stick-on clear coat protection film and applied with a little assistance with a heat gun it covers the first 5 inch of the mudguard neatly without creases or bubbles.
May be worth considering as even on the silver the chips were visible, on the red or blue models it would be even more noticeable.......

sounds like a good cheap solution. My dealer showed me a clear coated sheet kit that was cut for the ST, it covered the vulnerable areas! However the cost was something like £89

Do you know who made the sheet kit?

I don't know about the kit, but any 3M dealer will sell you the film in bulk. It's called ScotchCal and works great. I did the back of my tank with it for scratch protection. I used alcohol and water in a spraybottle and a window tint squeegee to put it on.

Go to www.tankslapper.com, they do a kit for the St for around $44 or just the tank around $15. I have ordered one but still waiting for it to arrive.

Like to find out more about this. Anybody else heard about it. Is it a Triumph thing?

Cheers

tankslapper.com was a rerouted 'for sale' URL.

any other links that might work?
