Hi boys (and girls)
Forgive me if its been raised before but thought you guys would like to know; I've had a thread SPONGEY BRAKES on the Speed Triple forum.
My brakes were really spongey on setting 4 (longest travel) the lever could touch the handle bar; so I ran on setting 1 which was just about OK.
I was never happy so I hounded my dealer to pester Hinckley. At last my brakes are sorted. Triumph does know about it and with a good dealer like mine you too can have ultra strong brakes if you have an issue.

Those hooligans always running around naked.

But, really what did the dealership do to remedy the problem you were having?

I zip-tied my brake lever towards the bar and left it overnight - nearly did a stoppie at the end of my road. A big difference. Hopefully what's happened is the air in the system has floated to the top i.e. master cylinder and this is a permanent cure. Quite happy to be contradicted/corrected.

I was really disappointed with my front brakes on my '05 ST. Compared to the Ducati 749S and Honda 954 that were my two prior bikes, the Triumph brakes were incredibly spongy, and would require a huge handful squeezed all the way in to do much of anything for stopping. Yesterday I had my bike in to the dealer for recall issues and I asked them to do what they could to improve the front brakes. They did a power bleed on it and WOW what a difference! Now they work like they're supposed to!

So what ever came of this? I know of several 2005 Sprint ST's that have brake issues.
