(Being my first post in this forum I'm not sure where to post this)

I just got off the phone after being informed that Preachp (Paul) went down hard while riding with friends in the Sport Tourers' Net. Paul's wife, Kat, called me earlier, and asked me to share this with Paul's friends on NER, ST.N, and Triumph.Rat forums. She was awakened this morning by local police and given the news that Paul was in the intensive care unit of Dartmouth Medical Center Hospital in Lebanon, NH. Evidently, it took some time to establish who should be contacted in such an emergency. From what Kat was told, Paul suffered significant injuries, including a fractured skull, facial fractures, leg fracture, multiple rib fractures, and a ruptured spleen. An emergency splenectomy was performed last night. He being sedated in the ICU as they watch for signs of intracranial bleeding (so far, he's ok in that regard). Kat will be heading up to Lebanon this afternoon with family. It'll be some days before Paul can be transported to a facility closer to his home in CT.

In these immediate days after such an accident the kindest thing that can be done is to support the accident victim and family. There will be plenty of time in the days and weeks ahead to send wishes for speedy recovery and the like. Right now, they would much appreciate your good wishes and sincere prayers.

I'll post here again when I have more news, Kat will keep me up to date, and likewise, I'll do the same here. Let's keep these folks in our thoughts and our prayers.

- Denny

Saddletramp,
thank you for letting us all know. That sounds like a very nasty accident.

I hope Paul will pull through ok. I can't do anything from down here but we all care.

Thanks so much for the notice. My prayers are with he and his family. Any ideas how we can be of further, possibly tangible, assistance?

My prayers out to Paul. I hope his recovery is speedy and free of complications.

I actually keep a little 'note' in my wallet that has all that contact information. I'm single, so I dont have a wife or GF to call. I put my mom on there, only because she is the most efficient at getting the word out, and being an RN. She would also be the best one to let my kids know... God willing noone but me will ever have to read it.

...as I ride the roads today,
I take some time to pray,
words cannot replace,
the look that's on my face...

I've never liked a man I've never met as much as Paul...
