What can I do to my 02 RS to make it a bit faster in the lower gears. I dont need so much top end.

Is gearing my only option?

Pretty much.
Running a search here on (gearing, sprockets, etc.) will give you all the brain trust on this. If you have 19X43's about the only options that make sense will be to go to a 18 front. If that isn't enough, I'm betting it will be, then go to a 45 rear. But you may have to go to a longer chain.

Coming from a Ducati background, has anyone tried to lighten a flywheel on a Triumph?

I think I will go with the 18 sprocket this winter.

This topic comes up quite a bit.

i've got a 17t up front and left the stock rear 43. the chain is fine, and now it just F___ks off like my old 916 st4 did. the bike is actually fun now! sure the mileage has suffered to 45mpg and the top end is maybe 125 screaming a bit but i'm smilin'...

later

There are alot of guys on the triumphnet.com e-mail list who really like the 17t front mod.

If your going to start lightening engine internals, you might as well start with Daytona motor parts, for the better cams and head. Though I don't think the crank is that different from the Sprint series motors.

Flying Sprint,

I am looking for exactly what you are talking about in the take off. I will have to try the 17t.

Is there any docs or faq's that tell me what I can swap out engine wise. Or should I see a dealersip about that?
