Sorry to hear you binned it, everyone has loads of advice on small animals but you obviously followed your own instincts which is what most experienced motorcyclists would do. None of us were actually there when it happened and I think it`s unfair of us to say we would have handled it differently. I agree with preachp, when something suddenly appears in front of you there, is very little thought process involved in the evasive action, it`s all instinct. It`s quite possible that every last one of us who replied to this would have also fallen off in the same circumstances.
Wisdom normally comes, just after you really needed it.

Good news, it looks like it will only be 2 or 3 weeks, and she will be good as new. My lovely wife has given me the key to her little Honda VTX to buzz around on until the Sprint returns.

Life is good.

Now I just have to practice on not succumbing to those pesky survival responses.

Maybe we should all paint hawk eyes and beaks on the front of our bikes, I bet the squirrels would move out the of way then!! Then the little critters would not have enough time to think and need to react...nothing like a 60mph hawk burling down on them...just a thought.
