Anybody fitted a Scottoiler to the 05 ST. If so where is the best place to connect the vacuum tube to ?
Is it the same as the 955i ?

I have a touring scotoiler ( resevoir behind number plate) as the std one has nowhere suitable to mount it to out of direct view.Only plave i could see was the rear subframe lower spars but it would spoil the look.
You will need to remove the petrol tank and airbox assembly. the vacum pick up point is in the centre of the fuel injection body.Has a little blanking rubber thingy, remove that and your sorted.
There is a good guide on the site by scotoiler for the new speed triple which is the same set up.

Works well on mine and wont need topping up for a claimed 5,000 miles.

Got mine located on the LH rear subframe, for shortest run poss.
Tis a bit of a pain to fill tho....

Good move on mounting the touring res,
behind the rear numberplate,
saves you boiling oil under the seat....
the only other place I could find for the small res...!

I'll wait for a touring res.... as i'm also hoping to fit a rear guard eliminator,
once I know for defo if the eliminator fits with the panniers.

I wouldnt fit the touring kit with an eliminator, you lose the protection from the back mudguard you will no longer have and your resevoir will be exposed to debri flung up from your tyre so be carefull ! 1 litre of scotoil spilt on to your tyre after a stone chip wont be good news !!!!!!!

ST....
VERY good point on the touring res mount,
will leave it off if the eliminator fits with the panniers...still wating to hear from R&G.....

& yes also I expect to get an ear bashing from the other half in the wet, with an eliminator fitted.

I understood Triumph were advisig that fitting a Scotty invalidated your warranty due to the vacume effecting the EMU?

Because of this I ordered a Pro-oiler. The Viffer boys seem to prefer it anyway.

Did you get the one with speedometer sensor? And if so, how did you connect it?

Also where are you hiding the oil container?

Thanks.

Supplying triumph dealer fitted my scotty and never mentioned a problem.

I have seen pro oilers resevoirs fitted inside the r/h stowage cupboard and the controler unsightingly on the left side black panel.......

Personally think the Scotty is the neater solution and will last up to 5000 miles without re-fil.

Hi,
My dealer fitted the scottoiler FOC at the first service.

I do recall a conversation about maybe requiring a special adaptor on sprint's, though the workshop manager said this wasn't required on the 05 sprint.

Other than that & the slightly fiddly fill position on the LH seat subframe all is OK.

Just need to remember to top it up every 1000 miles or so.

Neil.
