I just finished doing my chain today, see post several threads down. Highly recommend doing sprockets also- almost a must- go to Sprocket Center and plug in your bike, that's where I got my kit from although there are many vendors and chain/ sprocket combinations to be had, just Google it. I've had my 2001 for one year and did 7000 miles this past summer and plan to do more than that this year. I was able to contact the shop in Orlando that had done the scheduled maintenance but after searching this forum learned that one place of concern is the rear hub- several horror stories have been told on it- so a search turned up an excellent rebuild that OnD had done and I followed it to a tee and now I am confident that won't be an issue on my bike, not sure if this applies to your bike but with a chain/sprocket change it's an excellent opportunity to go there. The chain/sprocket change is simply job if you have the socket and torque wrench and for riveting the chain rather than paying $50.00 for a chain riveter I payed a local shop $15.00 today to do it for me, had chain on bike on my trailer and all they had to do was squash the rivets. Search is your friend- learn how to us it and you will be very informed when wrenching on your bike. Hope this helps, Good Luck.
