TOR...2008.... map?

I s*ck at the search engine apparently.....uggh!!!

I installed a TOR (all by myself! ) tonight on my 2008 Sprint ST.... I think it was actually harder to take all the parts off than the exhaust itself, LOL...

I've searched with no luck, but I'm sure it's on here somewhere ---- What MAP/Download do I want to get at the dealer, for a 2008 with TOR??? hope to swing by the dealer at lunch tommorow..... took her out for a quick spin, and damn - it's sounds pretty nice. Not obnoxius, but a little lower and throaty through the 1000-4000rom range, I like it!!! little more burble and pop on the de-cel for now, but I kind of like that too, ha ha... but I'm sure the proper map will help that a little....

also found once I got the seat off - that the Triumph Gel-seat was somewhat uncomfortable (came with the bike) for a reason.... the seat-tab wasnt slotted, the tab itself was loose and angles downward.... bolted up properly, I think it added about 2 cm or so of height back and isnt angled as "downward" as before - also added a slighty bigger "gap" above exhaust, and felt a little cooler already...... or its all in my head, LOL....

cheers if anyone can give me the map # I need to request.....

have a quick rummage here to tell you what tune you should have...

Once you have entered your model, it will list all the tunes and you will need your VIN to be sure (up by the headstock on the throttle side)

Very cool, thanks!!!! ... what would you consider the TOR though? it's not really an "aftermarket" exhaust, but its not stock either....hmmmm....

It stands for Triumph Off-Road exhaust, meaning it's supposed to be for track-only use.

LOL, believe it or not I know that, ha ha ... maybe I'm taking "aftermarket" too literally? I consider aftermarket produced or manufactured by someone OTHER than the builder of the bike(product), in this case obviously someone other than TRIUMPH. But it is as you point out "off road"(ie-track) only, so I suppose it would fall into that category...

using those standards, looks like tune #20176, I think

aftermarket
standard/stock midpipe
steel tank
vin# after XXXXX

s'all good!

Well, I guess we then call it "factory" as opposed to aftermarket

I would question the stock midpipe. I just had a TOR installed by the dealer, and it came with a stock LOOKING midpipe. It looks stock from the outside, but is sooo much lighter without any cat bits inside.

They downloaded the tune for me without a charge, although that is probably because I was already paying them for the install.

Good luck!

I have never heard that the off-road exhaust comes with a new mid-pipe. Maybe the earlier versions 05-06? 07? don't need a different mid-pipe since there is not a cat in them anyhow. Perhaps someone else with a newer Sprint who has also purchased the TOR will confirm this.

The TOR for the early 1050 (05-06-07?) did not include a mid pipe. It used the existing mid pipe since the pre-cat was in the header pipe. Some time after that, the pre-cat was moved to the mid pipe, thus the TOR for those models includes a mid pipe sans a pre-cat.

Don't quote me on the exact years because I do not have hard info. But I do know that using the VIN number when ordering a TOR will include/not include the mid pipe accordingly.
