Horns - Troubleshooting The "Click" Only With No Horn Blast

I installed dual Fiamm Horns a few months ago using a relay and everything worked perfectly.

Last weekend I was dressing out wiring(with braided sleeving) on the bike and also installed an Eastern Beaver Fuse Block... now the horns are not working and all I'm getting is the dreaded "click" at the horn relay. Funny thing is after I had wired the Eastern Beaver Fuse Block I tested the horns and no problem.

Since I had problems with the original Fiamm horn relay I went to Checker Auto Parts and bought a new relay hoping that would be an easy fix. No such luck... just a click at the relay when the horn button is pressed and nothing at the horns.

Using my Multi-Tester I confirmed the wires to the horns are continuous.

Because the horn relay is clicking when the horn button is pushed it tells me that the relay is powered and working correctly.

How can I troubleshoot the horns?

Here's a thumbnail of one of the horns:

The horn is grounded when mounted and power is supplied from the relay. How does one property test the power coming into the horns from the relay?

Here's a relay wiring diagram that could be useful as a reference(ignore the reference to the fuse block since the relays function the same):

All help is appreciated.

The first place I would look is the after-market fuse, power to fuse block and that Fiamm horn power was present at your relay holder from the EB fuse block.
Is your replacement relay a 4-wire or 5-wire relay??
Are you using the stock horn wiring directly to power the control circuit of the Fiamm horn relay??

Fiamm Horn Relay And Wiring

Thanks Bruce.

I'm embarrassed ... Turns out the power supply from the fuse block was disconnected. I've over torqued many things over the years and I guess I was too gentle with the set screws for the power supply to the relay.

To help others I'm posting and labeling the horn relay below. When I installed the aftermarket horns I removed the old horn and used the mounting location for the 5 Prong Horn Relay because the horn wires were already there. All that was needed was a relay(30 AMP Automotive), power supply to the relay(10 AMP fuse), and running the wires to the horns which are located just behind the radiator and inside the fairings. A very easy install.

Note: In the picture above the the horn wires are joined and use only one of the #87 prongs. For whatever reason the middle 87 did not work.

Gerald
The other #87 should be a normally closed contact. Who knows/cares why it had no continuity when the relay coil was not energized.
It works, that's all that counts!!

You do want to put a dummy bayonet crimp connector over the exposed extra terminal.
