Headlight bulbs

I am wondering what people do to their Sprints to improve the lighting at night. In my Ninja 500 I have a Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulb, which does the trick on that old style bike with the big rectangular headlight. I keep seeing these bulbs on ebay that are cheap and say they work like HID kits do, but they aren't actually HIDs. Does anyone have those?

I'd rather not install a HID kit and have to work up projectors.

I've got nothing against going with an HID system but I went the route as suggested by oldndumb.

I made sure the headlights were properly aimed and I upgraded to Phillips X-treme H7 bulbs for the two low beams and I will eventually upgrade the high beam to an Osram "selective yellow" light.

Both the Phillips X-treme and the Osram are 55 watt, with the Phillips X-treme being quite bright because of new bulb technology.

PIAA H7 + H4 X-treme White. Huge improvement over stock yellow lights and I haven't adjusted the lights at all..

My understanding with installing a HID is that you must fit a projector to correctly aim the beam so as not to blind oncoming traffic.

Nope, you just put them in. If you are constantly getting flashed from on-coming drivers (because of previously mis-adjusted lamps), Just turn the adjusters down a bit. Now, this information is coming from a state where we have no yearly vehicle safety inspection.
Really, HID,s are the best $50.00+ mod. you can do for your motorcycle.

More headlight advice needed!

This might have been already answered, there's just a lot to look at. I have a "new" out of the crate 2007 Sprint ST ABS. I love it, but the headlights are horrible. First I adjusted the lows up a bit and the cut-off was flashing drivers in their rear view mirrors and I had a couple of cars pull over due to the red/blue strobing that is happening, which I couldn't believe until it happened to me. I went to the dealer yesterday, he adjusted them back down and out a bit. It's a little better as far as flashing the cars, the cutoff is closer to the middle of the trunk of most cars. But, there's still the red/blue at times that once again, caused a couple of cars to pull over for me, last night. I'm for sure going to put, most likely PIAA aux. lights on the fork to help with the inside of the corners, while on back-roads, but wonder if maybe a different bulb (besides HID?) will alleviate the red/blue issue. I talked to Triumph in Atlanta I think it was and was told that the headlights passed and met all DOT requirements. I find that hard to believe. I'd appreciate any advise. Thank you!! I really to love this thing, beautiful Tornado Red, but those headlights!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible. Thanks again.
