Conti Motion
Have any of youse guys tried these tires yet? Conti refers to them as a premium entry level sports touring radial.
To be said in the voice of Frau Blucher from Young Frankenstein-----------OKAY-------
Anyway, they are a single compound and the rear is a 0 degree jointless steel belt, which seems to be the way a number of manufacturers are going with their sports touring radials.
You can get a front and rear for our Sprint St for $157 delivered from motorcycle superstore, which is the lowest price I've found. Most places have them for around $190 to $200 for a set.
I've been able to read a few reviews and they are all favorable. As far as I know the Conti Motion has only been out for a little over a year.
I gotta tell ya, for that price I'm really tempted to try a set.

Give it a go. It's like getting the front for free.
I like the Road Attacks pretty well. But I am not a real aggressive rider and don't need sport sticky tread. I don't need a set yet but if I did, I think I'd jump on this deal. Next time around, I am going to try the new Shinko ST tire.

Hey Tri-oomph, I've been considering the new Shinko 011 Verge too. But it keeps getting pushed back on its delivery date. Now it's somewhere between late April and late May.
So I just may give these Conti's a try.

I'm running them on my bike right now. Got about 1500mi on them with no problems. They seem to make the steering a bit "heavy" but they stick you to the road. Cornering is "like being on rails." I do like them much better than the "slipstones" that came with the bike.

NO-CFIT, that's good to know. I went ahead and ordered a set yesterday, and they should show up by weeks end. I'm not a super aggressive rider so I'm hoping they'll suit me just fine.

Well, I'm tapped-out, flat broke and I've managed to wear my Road Attacks to the wear bars in front and put a big flat spot in the rear at 6000 miles. Much as I'd like a set of Pilot Road 2s, I think the Motions may be my next tires. Anybody else got any feedback on them?
Cheers,
-Kit

KitNYC, my Motion's will be mounted on my Sprint at the end of the month and I'll be sure to provide feedback as the miles mount.
FWIW, they look great and are super fresh with the front being manufactured in the 40th week of '09 and the rear the 42nd week of '09.

Sliphorn, your riding style sounds a lot like mine. I think you'll like them. I'm about trying something new, but technically describing how they perform on my bike is beyond me. I either like something or I don't. If I like it I'll buy it again. I will buy these tires again....I think.

NO-CFIT, I said I wasn't a "super" aggressive rider; just plain 'ol aggressive .
Seriously, I suspect these tires would be suitable for the vast majority of us, regardless of how we ride on the street.

Sliphorn, like I said....a lot like mine! They are good for the boring straight lines too. Enjoy.
