New paint ideas for RS...?

I have a 2000 RS that has fugly green tribal flames on the front. My friend (the provious owner) dropped it after having it a few weeks, and instead of replacing the fairings, he decided to patch the crack and paint the flames on it.

Well, I want them gone, but cant find anyone to paint it the Lucifer Orange color for under 600 bucks... My buddy paints cars, but was not able to get a good color match... And when I found a local triumph fan that can paint the orange, he sadi the paint was 2/3 the cost..

Well, my biddy can paint it any color out there (except lucifer orange for some reason).. Does anyone have an RS in a Other Than Factory color? Any pics?

I am a silver fan, but I like standing out on the bike.. The main reason I dont want a full repaint is that I dont want to covoer up the Triumph logo and the 995i..

I almost did that when I cracked my fairing (and left side pannier)!

I have a Tiger in the ED (Lucifer Orange)

The paint is expensive and I can't imagine a single stage match looking right.

It's a color from Standox, and consists of a base color, a pearl metallic mid coat, and then the clear.

Came out to be about $120 a pint for the base and pearl. I ended up replacing my fairing and panniers for not much more than that (took over a year of watching eBay and Craiglist and wheeling and dealing with other Tiger owners though).

If you are interested I have the Standox paint codes and mix sheets for Lucifer Orange (ED).

I have a rear hugger I want to paint and a Top Box lid if I ever find one in good enough condition that might justify buying the paint and getting them sprayed some day.
