It has been logged on many occasions about the recall on the fuel fittings so i wont go down this track again but i had the recall done to my bike 3 weeks ago (99 sprint why so long?) and yesterday i had to have the fittng that screws into the fuel tank (female) replaced. sadly this did not come under the recall. 1. has anyone had this fitting leak on them and 2. Why the hell does a plastic fitting cost $187.35 A!!!!!!!
In Brisbane we have the unfortunate problem of two Triumph dealerships and both of them owned by the same company. After phoning another dealership outside of Brisbane i found that they touched me up on the price of this fitting. They also charged well over the odds for the genuine oil filter as well. Not too much competition going on around here

Noddy,
can you hint for me which Triumph dealer,

Like what side of the river?

I have only had good experiences with service dept at the Triumph dealer I go to so far. Also Suzuki and they always did the right thing with my Gixxer.

Team Triumph has the stainless steel tank side fittings for $46.00 USD for BOTH.

Wanna shed some more tears? I believe the female fitting cost me just under $12 when I bought them direct from Colder Products who makes them. Can't do that anymore though. They make you go to Fast by Ferracci a Ducati speed parts company and they are about $26 each. Oh, yes, the entire set from Team Triumph is about $85. Takes about an hour to replace them all unless you are one of the lucky ones like me where the female fitting disintegrated in place and I had to dig the plastic out of the threads.

I've had problems with the two Brisbane dealers in the past, I have used Paul Feeney in Nerang for the last couple of years and they have been very good (although extremely busy most of the time).

They also seem willing to talk prices - talk to Justin.

"Team Moto" (was the "Shogun" group) appear to own more than half of the motorcycle dealerships in the Brisbane area and others in regional Queensland - not good!

Noddy, i went through this as well recently, still have to take it to the dealer here to get it done.
I talked to the guys at Team Triumph recently while ordering a new screen, they have those fuel fittings in stock. I would highly recommend getting those, they are really helpful people and quite quick on shipping out their orders.

I have no idea why my recall needs to get done now as well. Previous owner had it serviced for the Clutch cable recall done in 2000, a Fuel Regulator replacement in 2003, while replacing the Fuel regulator why did the dealer not see that the fuel fittings were plastic and do the recall????? or at least check they are sitting right next to the regulator after all.
I had problems with the female connectors? as well, ive replaced the rubber washers that were cracked and resealed everything with teflon tape.
Hopeful these fuel fittings are safe for now until the dealer gets the recall parts, but on another note my dealer here told me to take one of the new 05 Sprints and 05 S3 for a spin while the work is getting done, cant wait.
