I have a 2002 Sprint ST & love riding the twisties down here in Oz, mostly at fairly challenging speeds & lean angles. I'm currently running Avon Azaros front & back, and very happy with them. I've read on various Australian forums that Z6 are to ducks guts. I was wondering if anyone out there has any Z6 experiences or comments. Thanks.

In my experience, the Z6's have been the dog's bullocks :-D
Until recently I really haven't had a chance to ride when it's warm and dry, and most of their miles have been in the wet to very wet pouring down rain. Their wet grip, I'd say, is tenacious.

Finally got to go for a ride the other day up one of my favorite technical roads, dry and warm.

When I got back I found that I'll need a new set of boots as I ground the outside edges off my old ones down to the cords.

I don't remember my mileage on them but it's around 3000-3500 and there has been no discernible cupping to the front, or squaring off the rear. It looks like I'll get very good use of them.

I was thinking of getting the Avons but at the time the Z6's were just coming out and I had read good reviews in Road Racing World and my dealer gave my such a good deal mounted and balanced I went with them and I'm very glad I did.

I'll write a further in the Tire Thread.

Don

Switched to a Z6 rear recently on my 02 RS and I love it! Used to use Bridgestone 020s, but would only get about 3000 miles out of a rear. Have about 1300 miles on the Z6 rear so far and it looks great even following two rather spirited rides! The grip is at least as good as the 020 and they are supposed to last longer. If so, great combination. Did not change the 020 up front because it was fairly new. Will put a Z6 up front when I need new rubber. I highly recommend the Z6s!

Hi Hilda,
I am on my third set of Azaros but first set on my ST 3/4 worn , I also am very happy you can view my tyres on my link below.

Everybody says the Z6 is a very good tyre I am thinking it may steer faster than our Azaros as they aren't the fastest turner in town.

I am thinking my next set may be the Michelin Pilot Power my mate on his 04 blade reckons they're the ducks nuts.

Keep us posted I'm interested in a Azaro Z6 comparison.

Hi Pedro
Have you checked on availability of Z6 in Oz? If they're available here, I'll be trying them next.

It's only on a BMW R850R but I have Z6's too and love them to bits. Used to be on Macadams and whilst they lasted for absolutelyever I always felt scared as hell in the wet and never totally comfortable pushing those tyres to the limit.
