Wha BHP to expect at back wheel

Had my 06 Sprint 1050 ST on a rolling road yeaterday, and saw 79.26 bhp on the dyno and a really rich mixture

Bought the bike three months ago with the sports pipe already fitted and the dealer claimed they did a 12,000 mile service before delivery.

What sort of power (not torque) should I expect, and is there a chance that I have the wrong ECM map loaded?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Something not right there mate. My '06 saw 112HP with the off road pipe and only 986 KM on the clock at first service. I've not had it on the dyno since but expect it would run a bit stronger now that it is truely run in.

You may have a French Spec that are power restricted to 98ps. If it is it will have a throttle stop on the throttle body that restricts how far the throttle can open. Look between the fuel tank and frame on the right side ( right side sitting on bike ) and you may be able to see a L shaped piece of metal at the top of the throttle cam were the cables attach. If so thats the restrictor.

Rich does not make more HP, leaner does.
My '02 recently clocked 112 at the RR on a calibrated dyno with the Trident Stubbie.

Any type of dyno run is useless unless it's calibrated for the local conditions.

Totally agree, the Dyno I had my bike on is really for use by a few private race teams, so it is correctly calibrated. Taking the bike in to the Triumph dealer this friday for them to check the mapping on the ECM, and the carbs setup. WIll keep all posted.

Only when you go too lean. Too fat and you get an engine that does nothing but slobbers all over itself and looses power.

Did the K&N filter make any difference?

Be interesting to hear what his dealer has to say.
