My first run in with a fan..
I just bought the bike a few months ago and today, while riding on the interstate, some guy in a toyota corolla pulls up next to me and histerically gives me a thumbs up.
I honestly didn't know what to think so I nodded and exited at the next exit as was planned. The guy ends up next to me saying how awesome Triumph is, and I thought he was just a fan of bikes in general. To say the least it was a pleasant surprise.
thought I'd share.

I am surprised that he didn't ask for your autograph. Nice to run in to Triumph people (and fans) they seem to be a dedicated and growing group of loonies.
My sparkie has an S3, my doctor has a Tiger, most my mates have Triumphs.

My buddy and I rode our Sprints down to Northern California last summer, and about every other gas stop someone would comment on our bikes. All Triumph enthusiasts, either current or previous. I still get lots of comments around town from people who either like the look of the bike, or who once owned a Sprint and wish they had one again.

I have to be honest the coolest part of owning a triumph is the stories and waves you get from former owners back when they were kids. Granted I'm young enough to be there kid but still its pretty cool to hear all the stories they have on old Triumphs.

That was me! No, just kidding, but it could have been.
My favorite "fan" reaction was from the young state trooper who pulled me over in September and after the business was done, commented on how nice the bike was. Being a proud new Ducati owner himself, my Sprint took that as a compliment.

The state trooper wasn't quite as nice to me.. didn't say a word.. but then again I passed on a double yellow going 124 and he didn't get a chance to clock me because his radar was blocked by the traffic behind him (in the opposite lane). But he did let me know many motorcyclists had perished on that same strip of road doing just what I did. How could I resist..
Some old guys pulled up behind me, one on a zuki and the other on something else that I don't recall, and were rearin' to pass some traffic- so I lead the way naturally.. So hard to resist those urges.... Motorcycles are like a poor mans supercar........ minus all that unecessary stuff- 2 extra wheels, seat belts, and airbags.

Good story!
I have had a few encounters like that as well.... Lots of kids look too, actually I am gron, but I of course look too.
Yeah, the Triumphs always get a thumbs up if there is time to flash one.

A couple months ago, a guy came up to me in a Target store and asked me if that was my Sprint outside. I had my red Fieldsheer mesh jacket on, so go figure. Anyway, I got a big chuckle out of that one. Kind of cool

My wife and I were in Tennessee in September, riding along an interstate. In the distance behind us, I saw two bright headlights closing fast. As they got closer, I realized it was two state troopers on bikes.
They pulled up aggressively right next to me and I thought...I'm busted for something. But no, they gave me a smiling thumbs up and a wave and moved on.
First time that's ever happened.
