Warranty Issues

Hey folks, I have had a couple of minor issues with my 07 Sprint. Rear tail light has only 2 of the existing led's functioning and my rubber battery strap has fallen apart to the point that it has broken.
The rubber strap has perished badly and i noticed that the relay holders are doing the same.
My local Stealer ( who are as useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle ) took photos of light and batt strap and sent them to Peter Stevens who have agreed to have them replaced but will not do the relay holders as they are saying that it is part of the main wiring loom and they will not replace the loom just for the relay holders.
I asked my Stealer what happens when the holders finally perish and break in a years time and was told " tough tit ".
I think that Triumph shoul repair as it is a fault with the rubber that has been used and not my fault.
Bike only has 11,000 ks on the clock so i think i should be covered by the warranty.
What do you yhink, should i push for the relay holders to be replaced or what.
Anyone else have this issue?
Cheers, Nev.

The rotting rubber issue has been around for a long time.
I'm on my third battery strap. And for the relay rubber, you can secure the relays with cable ties...forget about replacing the relay rubber, the cable ties will last longer.

Yes i agree that the relay holders can be fixed by me but the point is, this is poor quality and the rubbers should be replaced with a better holder, espescially if this is an ongoing problem.
You would not accept it if your tyres started to rot away if you left your bike parked in your garage for a month or two and did not ride it would you ?
I feel that a better material should be used and implemented if there is a problem with rubber holders.
My main gripe is that they have said " bad luck " to the repair whilst my bike is still under warranty which is supposed to cover defective parts or materials is it not ?.

I agree, the rubber material should be better.
As for the warranty, my dealer showed lack of customer skills also.
We wanna be devoted Triumph customers, and this is what we get .
Some dealers do it better than others, if you have another dealer accessable, try them out with the rubber replacement or call Triumph yourself. I made a call to triumph USA over shoddy rotors, and they went back and suggested to my dealer that it should be warrantied. But, it was like twisting arms though.
Every olive has a pit, and my 06 sprint was no different, but after 38,000 miles, she delivers $15,000 performance in a $12,000 price.
Not sure of this, but the Speed triple battery strap is what I'm using and it appears to last longer.
Correct me if it's the same part # as the sprint strap....

Has anyone ever tried velcro for the battery strap?

You can do what I did and ride around without a battery strap for a long time. I pulled it off when I noticed it broken but forgot to put the new one back in. It was on a table in my house for months!

My dealer claimed they wouldn't even try to submit it as it's a "wear and tear item". HA! Of course, for that and other reasons, I don't go back to that dealer any more. I opt to ride the hour to the other one.

Yep--Triumph can't source decent rubber. There's gotta be another bike's battery strap that will work.

Yes Dave , I also have an 02 955 daytona and all rubbers on it are like new. Even on my 95 Monster all rubbers are fine and it only sees use once every couple of months so i suspect that the rubbers on some newer bikes may be cheap and nasty ( did i say made in China, oops, sorry ).
The battery strap on mine had perished to the point where it was like dust and my Stealer said that it was probably due to the humidity here in Darwin.
I honestly think my local Stealer is the biggest moron i have ever met !!!
So, if my battery strap has done this i am reasonably assuming that the relay holders will do likewise and i can see them starting to split and perish so i will keep records and photos and when they break completely i will contact Triumph direct i think.
P.S. My new tail light turned up and my Stealer asked me if i could install it myself as they will not make anything if they have to do it for me !!!!
I politely declined and booked the bike in for them to do.
And you think you folks have some poor service. My next nearest T dealer is on the East coast of Queensland around 2,000kms away.
