how do you remove the lid of the topbox on a 955 ST

Title says it all really.

I want to take the topbox lid off to do a bit of work on it, only i can't see how. What appears to be stopping me is some cover that goes over the hinge on the outside of the box.

I don't want to assume i have it give a tap and it slides upwards or something in case it doesn't and breaks!

Any know how it comes off?

Taking it off is easy, it can be a real bear to get back on.
