Well I've completed my handlebar risers. I must have made them higher than a purchased set. I made them 32mm high and was under the impression that was the normal hight. The brake hose is just not long enough. I'm going to investigate routing it behind the lower triple clamp, failing that I will have to make the spacers lower. I will let you know the results.

Why not fit a longer brake line?

I'm looking for something to take a little pressure off my wrists. Otherwise I love the riding position. I rode cruisers before my Sprint, and was good for a couple hundred miles until my backside was ready to quit. With the Sprint, I could ride all day, if my wrists would hold out. My back, backside, and legs feel fine.

Not sure if risers are the answer, or just a couple of those throttle flap gizmos... (looks like a shoehorn attached to your grip).

So I guess I am asking why too...

I would like to take some of the pressure of off my hands. On a couple of my older, unfaired bikes, I have clip-ons. W/o the fairing it's possible to have the wind pick your body weight off of the hands without going 160 Kph. Age may also be playing into the equation.

That would be the answer. I live in a smaller community and that type of product is not available off the shelf. Perhaps the net will offer a solution.

I have one of those throttle gizmos. I'm not sure it is necessary on the ST. I know on my Norton it helps, but the throttle is harder to turn and hold than the ST's.

Take the pressure off your wrists / hands???....... you guys dont realise how upright and comfy the St really is. Try doing a 1500 mile weekend trip on a Sv1000s, your wrists will be that sore you wont be able to apply cream to your very very sore butt cheeks.

The new St is like an armchair in comparison !

Ah yes, but now that I have the armchair, I want to make it into a recliner. ;-)

I went for about 900 Km ride and the bar risers definitely help. I rerouted the brake line and it was long enough. I would list this as a good modification.
