Sprint over heating

On sunday I had an issue with slight over heating. Temp gauge went higher than normal 8 bars and the fan ran a lot longer than normal. When I stopped to check things out the hose from the top left of engine was leaking coolant from around the hose clamp and was rock hard, the hose on top of the pump was rock hard and the coolant resvoir was barely over the min. mark. When the bike cooled down after sitting many hours the level in the resvoir stayed the same with very little drop and when I took the rad. cap off fluid to the top. Radiator cap maybe ?? Thanks for any input. Joe..

I'd reset the hoses, fill and burp then re-check the tank.

Thanks for the input, I tried all that and the dealer thinks it may be a stuck thermostat? It goes in on saturday to find out. Thanks. joe..

...remember the one posting about the coolant reservior tank that, despite being molded properly, the inlet/outlet at the bottom was not drilled to let coolant pass thru. Whatever coolant was in the tank couldn't circulate into the system, and the expansion had no where to go. When you say the "coolant was barely over the minimum", a portless reservior tank is all I can think of.
You'll need to be creative in finding a method to detect if the port is there or not.
Good luck!

Just got back from my dealer, Branchville Motors in Ridgefield Ct U.S.A.. Come to find out it was the thermostat. So they changed both the thermostat and the radiator cap. There are many good things about Branchville motors I could say, but I like the fact you can watch work being done to your ride, I steal with my eyes. Thanks to Jim and crew, I have complete trust in my dealer. Joe..
