Clutch cable

I just had my cable snap on me last night. I got lucky that I was just in town and not out on a long ride.

My main concern is the way the cable was installed by the previous owner... The end of the cable with the long curved solid piece of metal was the one that went to the lever itself. Is this the way it is supposed to be? It looks correct to me

I only ask because the in the pic of the one I may purchase it looks like the bolts for adjustment near the gearbox are on the metal piece end of the cable.

Also the cable I'm looking to purchase is from a sprint RS...
I'm assuming they are the same as the ST cables.

Where ever you source the cable from, it must have the metal piece at the lever end, and a threaded metal piece for the adjuster/mount nuts at the gearbox end.
