2 Years, 5 Triumphs and the S3 is Done

What can I say, I love these bikes. I think I have a problem with them as a matter of fact. In 2 years I have owned 5 Triumphs and still look for others. I am desperate for another 865cc machine to do a severe cafe racer with total different tank and tail. That is in the future.

My first lust was the ST and that ST brought me here to this forum. I still love the ST like a first girlfriend. Here is my old ST:

Next was my Bonneville. I bought a bone stock 07 Bonnie Black. It is one of the best bikes I have ever owned, as a matter of fact it is the best bike I have ever owned. I started doing stuff to it and couldn't stop. I have about 200 hours into it, much of it you can't really tell unless you look quite closely. It took on about 3 incarnations before this one, the final look:

Next I bought a little TT600 for my wife. It needed some work, alot of nuts and bolts tightened up and some fairing painting. Not my favorite Triumph and I am very glad that Triumph stopped building 4 cylinder engines. Not to say this bike didnt rip because it did. It just buzzed like mad and had a dated headlight.

With the Bonnie and the TT still in garage I took on a Blazing Orange Tiger. This is one classy bike and is a dream to tour on. I put 3200kms on it in 4 days. It was absolutely wonderful.

Now continuing on...... I had a good friend of mine who wanted a track bike and took a shining to the TT. He had a 2002 S3 that was a little worse for wear but made a very fair trade. I took the S3 home and was happy that I had a winter project. I love these bikes and I desperately wanted a 955 in my garage. Well 6 weeks later the blue beat up Speedy is now done:

It turned out so good and I am very happy. It's matte black with gloss black ss stripes outlined in red. I bought 2010 SE S3 decals which are gloss black outlined in red. I also had the headlight buckets powder coated black chrome. It's going to snow tomorrow so riding season is done and I haven't even take it out of the garage. Oh well. She is pretty to look at.

For a while I did have 2,3,4 sitting in the garage. Now it's 1,2,3. The one being mrs. Calliway's Honda CR125R.

Great job Cal! That S3 is a keeper now. What's next? There are still more Triumphs to go!

Well I am not sure what next. I really want to do a street tracker and have found an XS650 to base it on. I think that will be next. it will be a street tracker with totally modern suspension, wheels and braking based on parts off a ZX6R.

XS650 motor and frame mated to a zx6R USD shocks, brakes and rims with Omar street tracker plastics. 57 or so horsepower weighing under 300lbs is the goal. I want to get a power to weight ration as close to an Aprilia SXV or Husky 510 as possible.
