Cheap GPS Mount for the ST

While waiting for my Gen-Mars to arrive I was searching for a GPS mount and looked at all I could find, I was not impressed with any except the triumph mount and I would still have to buy an adapter. I already had a Garmin 2730 mounted to another bike with the Garmin bike adapter kit and ball type handle bar mount. As I was placing the Garmin unit in places that I thought I would like it the only place for the large GPS unit would be above the triple crown nut and looked for a mount but was limited to modifying an mount or making my own. While I was at a supply store I saw some steel flat bar and thought a bar between the clip-on’s mounting bolts would work and found some aluminum flat bar next to the steel and a design was born. After going home and doing so thinking I thought it would work and made a parts list, The list consist of 1” flat bar, 8 mm all thread,8 mm nylock nuts and some washers. The photos below show what I came up with. I plan to add some rubber washers and do some tweaking and get some shorter bolt for the Garmin mount next trip to the supply store.

I hope the pics. work.

Very nice, I've got an '03 and really like your set up... may have to do this myself.

Very nice. I use a RAM mount on my Blackbird, but your mount looks much cleaner.
