Paint protection

I feel that the paint on my new Sprint seems to mark easily. Mine is pacific Blue, a lovely colour. My 98 VFR didnt have any scuff or rub marks after 10 years.

I did notice that Triumph are going to offer tank kits from Venture Shield. The company do two kits for the Sprint, a tank kit which comprises of three pieces. Two side pieces for the knees and a rear panel to stop your coat / leathers rubbing. Then theres a much larger whole bike kit, not sure how many bits are in this.

I contacted my local Venture Shield dealer and installer and he fitted the tank kit the other day, its superb and is hardly visible in place. You have to look very hard to see it.
Highly recommended.

Like you I prefer to protect the paint on my tank as long as possible (my biggest mistake was buying metallic paint finish...tough to touch up with out major work and or cost)....should have gone with the Red they had in 07.

I wanted something that was going to be as thick as possible and Tech-Spec has this stuff they call Gripster....which is not only thick but looks great and provides some real grip power in the twisties. Very pleased with it, but will probably buy some of that 3M clear stuff to protect the front facing portions of the fairing from road debris in the future.

FYI....for comparison purposes here is a pic of my set up:

That looks good particularly on a black bike, wouldnt have wanted to cover up my shiny Pacific blue though.

I got the full Ventureshield kit installed on my '08 Pacific Blue.

Can not speak highly enough of the product. Protects the full front fairing, headlight, side fairing leading edges (and where your pants rub on the painted plastic just underneath the tank), gas tank, and hard luggage. Can barely notice that it is there.

Note that a good experienced installer is extremely important.
