Hi everyone,

just an intro also so have a recent problem with my 05 Sprint ST1050 with 12,000 miles. Running perfectly then went for a spin on Saturday and the bike began idling low like.8 rpm then stalled repeatedly upon engaging first gear. Got the bike home by slipping the clutch for a round 6 miles....nice. Any ideas, checked fluids and battery, nothing a miss.

Welcome! My first guess would be the idle speed controller. Does it stall when you give it throttle, or just when you engage 1st gear? Are you slipping the clutch to keep the RPMs up, to prevent it from stalling from the low idle speed? Does it run fine once above idle speed?

Thx for the reply, no problem at high revs, dies when engaging clutch and letting off throttle hence slipping clutch to keep revs high. Upon starting idles at 1200 then dips to 800 and struggles to stay running.

Is there any easy fix?
