Glove liners

Been looking for some thinsulate work glove liners around here but no joy so far, have seen them online so I know they exist, just haven't been able to find them in a local store.
Stopped by Orscheln's (farm and home supply) on my ride today and picked up a pair of 60/40 either hand knit gloves (75 cents) that fit great inside my Tourmaster gaunlets, they are thin enough to not impede movement but I'll have to wait for a good cold day to give them the test to see if they help.
I've got a pair of good leather driving gloves with thinsulate in them that fit on the outside of my TM's but it bulks them up so bad it's like a handful of sausages and being on the outside it defeats the purpose.

Tip on waterproofing your gloves, buy a box of large or xlarge exam gloves and slip a pair on when it's raining.

The only answer is to buy decent gloves in the first place as I have just found out. I bought a pair of Alpinestars AS2 Goretex, insulated and guaranteed waterproof Triumph branded gloves recently. Ok they cost as much as the previous 5 pairs I had bought But they actually work. Warm, dry and with nice feel for riding. Last week I rode 4.5 hours in really, really heavy rain, everything except the gloves leaked. Best 135.00 I ever spent on the bike

If you want glove liners, silk is the only way to go. Thin and way better than the man made glop.

I agree that getting a good pair is preferable but most of the water/wind/cold proof gloves aren't armored which I prefer so I wear silk liners in my Lee Parks Design gloves but they do have a pair with very good armor and meets cold/wet criteria.

Work gloves are for work. MC gloves are for riding MCs.

I have several pairs of gloves including A'Star insulated. But I keep going back to the silk liners and a pair of Lee Parks gloves.

The silk liners are usually available at any BMW dealership.

+ 1 more for a good pair of gloves plus silk liners. Ski shops usually sell them. Mine are knitted silk, so trap a bit more insulating air. Another tip for warm hands is to buy gloves that aren't too tight.

I have a pair of these for the snow type weather but they are pretty cumbersome

Bulky but mostly waterproof and thinsulate lined.

+1 for the silk liners.

Over the years I've tried different liners & different types of glove but when it gets cold I still come back to the same solution.

I share Dolson's view that most winter gloves are short on protection compared to RR gloves. I recently bought a pair of Cortech Scarab Winter gloves. Protection is good and they seem as if they'll be warm - although I haven't had the chance to try them in real cold yet.

Think I will make a point to look at the Lee Parks gloves again during the Greenville, SC show in February this year (assuming I go, of course).

They seemed expensive when I first looked at them, but assuming their claims about superior construction quality are true they'll probably last lots longer than the successive pairs of cheaper gloves I've had that always seem to wear out or fall apart.

And +1 on silk liners. I'm not sure where mine have gotten off to (they're probably hiding in a pair of gloves I don't use anymore), but they're certainly every bit as warm (if not warmer) as any of the synthetic fiber glove liners I've used and thinner to boot, which means they're more comfortable.

evilted, if you can go and get fitted properly. Lee fitted me at the 2005 motogp and they are still like second skin and going strong. Very comfortable and tough and I have a high confidence level in them as far as protection.

I'm glad I made the investment in them.
